چکیده

Background Diagnosis of myocarditis remains a difficult clinical challenge, since the clinical spectrum of myocarditis is multifaceted. As clinical presentation and ECG-changes tend to be non-specific, cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) has proven to be a valuable diagnostic tool regarding non-invasive diagnosis of myocarditis. However, CMR studies are timeand cost-intensive. Hence, further parameters are warranted to identify those individuals in whom a CMR study is likely to add crucial information regarding correct and timely diagnosis of acute myocarditis. The current study sought to elucidate the diagnostic yield of CMR in young patients aged ≤ 40 yrs with clinical diagnosis of myocarditis based on symptoms and ECG in relation to the presence or absence of elevated levels of cardiac troponin as an additional marker of acute myocardial injury.

Clinical characteristics and outcomes of patients with myocarditis mimicking ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction

Acute myocarditis mimicking ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is highly deceptive for an accurate diagnosis, and a systematic study is lacking with regard to the clinical features and prognosis of this distinct clinical entity.Patients with suspected STEMI and eventually diagnosed with myocarditis by cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) from January 2012 to April 2016 at Fuwai Hosp...

[Myocarditis: magnetic resonance imaging diagnosis and follow-up].

Myocarditis, inflammation of the myocardium, is usually due to viral infection. Diagnostic confirmation in ordinary clinical practice is difficult because the findings on the clinical history, physical examination, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests offer scant diagnostic accuracy, and the differential diagnosis is often done with acute myocardial infarction. Cardiac magnetic resonance ima...

Evaluation of cardiac troponin I (cTnI), electrocardiography, creatine kinase (CK) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) in diagnosis of selenium deficiency in Markhoz goat kids breed

BACKGROUND: Cardiac Troponin I (cTnI) is known as a cardiac biomarker in determining the myocardial damage of diseases which affect the heart muscle. OBJECTIVES: This study aims to evaluate the serum cTnI concentration in Markhoz Breed goats suffering selenium (Se) deficiency and its correlation with electrocardiographic parameters, and activity of creatine kinase (CK) and aspartate aminotransf...
